新疆西准噶尔托里地区,属准噶尔地槽褶皱带,天山—兴安地槽褶皱系。这一地区地质构造变动强烈,侵入体相当发育。志留系在该区出露比较广泛,总厚度约7000—9000余米,以砂岩、粉砂岩互层及千枚状粉砂质泥岩与粉砂岩互层为主,局部夹砂砾岩、薄层硅质岩、结晶灰岩和少许火山岩等,产笔石、珊瑚等化石。库木约左克剖面位于托里县城以南,在1977年的1∶20万塔勒艾勒克幅区域地层资料中,曾根据岩性对比将该套地层划归下石炭统卡拉干的组第一亚组(C_1KL~a)。1982年,我所第四研究室在进行《新疆西准噶尔地区超基性岩体产出地质背景的研究》工作中,于该剖面采集了三个古孢粉样品(82m—557、82m—558、82m—559),经分析,在82m—559号样品中见到了较丰富的疑源类和少数三缝小孢子及几丁虫、虫颚化石。从各国所发表的资料来看,海相志留系中的疑源类化石相当丰富,一般保存也较好。目

In 1982, the fourth laboratory of our institute collected three samples of archaeal pollen (82m-557,82m-558) in the section of “Research on the Geological Background of Ultrabasic Rock Mass Production in West Junggar Region, Xinjiang” , 82m-559). According to the analysis, the most abundant source species and a few trichomes and chitin fossils were found in samples 82m-559.
