一九七九年下半年的一天,天津南开大学一个学生社团召开成立大会,给校党委书记张再旺也发出了请柬。对于去不去参加这个会,校领导成员交换了意见。有的同志耽心党委书记去参加,可能会被一些人误解为赞同这些学生的错误观点。但是,张再旺还是参加了这个成立会。在会上,他认真听了学生的发言,了解了他们每个人的主要论点和态度,然后通过讲述自己年轻时探索、追求真理,参加革命实践的体会。以浅显朴素的语言阐述了马列主义的基本观点。他以理服人,对学生的各种看法进行了正面疏导,使许多学生受到教育。散会后,就有几个学生到张再旺的家里找他谈心,告诉他,他们实际上也没仔细鉴别某些错误观点。现在听了他的话,明白了许多道理。
One day in the second half of 1979, a student body at Nankai University in Tianjin convened an inaugural meeting and an invitation was also sent to Zhang Zhaowang, party secretary of the school. The leaders of the school exchanged opinions for going or not for this meeting. Some comrades worrying about the party committee secretary going to the meeting may be misunderstood by some people as agreeing to the erroneous views of these students. However, Zhang Zhipang still participated in the founding meeting. At the meeting, he listened attentively to the students’ speeches, got to know the main arguments and attitudes of each of them, and then explained his own experiences of exploring, pursuing the truth and participating in revolutionary practice when he was young. Explain the basic point of Marxism-Leninism in simple plain language. He persevered with his dispositions and positively defused various views of students, leaving many students educated. After the meeting, several students talked to Zhang’s busy home and told him they did not actually make any mistakes. Now listening to his words, understand a lot of truth.
