在机械制造业中,圆锥配合被广泛使用。而锥度的检验通常使用圆锥量规。但是由于测量问题,至今对圆锥量规锥度值的准确一致性还没有很好解决。这就给制造和使用圆锥量规带来了许多困难。因此在生产锥度量现的工厂,对高精度的锥度规,规定了塞规和套规配对检验和使用的苛刻要求。这一问题,用现行的锥度测量方法:“不论是正弦尺法、正切法,还是钢球圆柱法、计量仪器法。”都因存在测量效率低、对套规锥度的测量难实现的缺点而难以解决。
