何谷理(Robert E.Hegel),1943年生,美国籍。1965年获密歇根州立大学中文学士学位,1967年获哥伦比亚大学中国文学硕士学位,1973年获哥伦比亚大学中国与日本文学博士学位。现为美国圣路易市华盛顿大学东亚语言文化系中国文学教授、迪克曼比较文学讲座教授。曾任华盛顿大学东亚语言文化系主任,专攻中国明清小说,出版有《十七世纪的中国小说》(The Novel in Seventeenth Century

Hegel, born in 1943, American. 1965 Bachelor of Arts in Chinese from Michigan State University, MA in Chinese Literature from Columbia University in 1967, and Ph.D. in Chinese and Japanese Literature from Columbia University in 1973. He is currently a professor of Chinese literature at the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Washington University in St. Louis and a lecture professor at Dickman Comparative Literature.
