农作物品种区域试验是将育种成果转化为生产力的中间环节,在当前实施“种子工程”建设中,有着非常重要的现实意义。(一)正确认识区试工作的重要性1.区试是整个农作物育种工作不可分割的重要组成部分。通过区试可以客观鉴定新品种的主要特征、特性,确定新品种最适宜推广区域,了解新品种的适宜栽培技术,从而反馈信息,指导育种实践,改进育种工作。2.区试在“种子工程”中起“排头兵”作用因为没有优良品种,没有良种的合理布局及与之配套的适用技术,“种子工程”的其它环节,诸如种子生产专业化,加工机械化都将成为一句空话。因此区试在“种子工程”中起“排头兵”的作用。3.区试可迅速扩大新品种的推广利用
