2002年6月30日,是城市低保工作实现应保尽保目标的最后期限。这一目标,是党中央、国务院的重大决策,也是党中央、国务院赋予民政部门的光荣而艰巨的任务。为实现这一目标,各级民政部门在党委、政府的领导和支持下,恪尽职守,勇担重任,团结奋斗,顽强拼搏,采取强有力的措施,克服了一个又一个困难,取得了前所未有的成绩。本期“特别关注”栏目刊登的广东、重庆、四川、河北、贵州、广西等省区低保工作的成效、做法和经验,就是全国低保工作的真实写照。
