As the largest partial war between China and Japan before the outbreak of the Lugouqiao Incident, Suiyuan’s anti-Japanese war broke out at the end of 1936, which was of great significance. Influenced by the means of communication and geographical location at that time, only a few reporters went to the front of Suiyuan for field interviews. The famous field photographer Fang Da was once one of the representatives. After arriving in Jining on December 5, 1936, he conducted a 43-day interview on various battlefields around Suiyuan front and back, during which he took nearly 400 photos and wrote a series of field communications. These photos and communications were published in famous newspapers such as the “World Knowledge” Pictorial, Ta Kung Pao and the “Liangyou” Pictorial, which caused great sensation at that time. Through the analysis of the legacy of Fang Da in the National Museum of China and the communication of his field which was published at that time, we can sort out the details of his interview at the front of Suiyuan’s anti-Japanese war.
