捍卫和重建档案教育“文革”的浊流要吞噬一切文化。集中保存人类文化智慧的档案,更不能幸免。吴宝康与曾三,裴桐是档案界“最早被揪出”来的所谓“三家村”,被扣上种种莫须有的帽子而剥夺了工作。吴先生被下放干校,接受农民的“再教育”。1973年,当时教育当局决定要撤销历史档案系。先生闻知此讯,十万焦虑、气愤和惋惜。心想中国这么大,档案这么多,全国才一个档案系,搞了一、二十年,有了点基础,撤销容易恢复难啊。想到此,不免痛心疾首。吴先生表示“为了救挽档案教育事业,我要以党员的资格尽最后一点责任。”于是挥笔疾书,一式三份,一份呈周总理,一份送中央办公厅,一份给北京市委。中心意思是停办、撤销容易,恢复重建困难,这么大一个中国不能没有档案学,讲了若干理由后提出建议:暂缓撤销,交某一学校(因人民大学已决定撤销)暂行代管。这是一个缓冲之
