Surprisingly, many people are not sure what kind of information is stored in the pit. Most people know that the signal is digital and stored in the sequence of “1” and “0”, is all the information stored in the pit, the answer is no. There is virtually no pit required, only the rising and falling edges of the pit to identify changes in the signal (eg, from reflected to non-reflective or vice versa).
