中国历史上的鸦片文化,是中外文化交流的产物,是西方殖民主义者用来打开中国古老大门的钥匙,是一种罪恶的化身。同时它也成为中国传统文化的组成部分和主流文化之下的亚文化,对近代中国社会产生了重大影响。它以解除病痛造福人类始,却以成瘾性危害人类社会而被越来越多的人们所认识和厌恶。
