1959年12月17日,河南日报发表了洛阳拖拉机厂、轴承厂大搞自动化的一组报道(?)这组报道在河南省近代化企业里发生了巨大的影响,好多工厂看到报纸后都立即派人前往洛阳去参观学习,人民日报也转载了这天的社论,摘要发表了这条消息。这一组报道同时受到了省委的重视、此外,这组报道更大大鼓舞和激励了拖拉机厂、轴承厂全体职工的干劲。我们感到这是我们报纸在抓方向性问题当中的又一次的胜利。
