On April 17, 2015, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released tools that it developed to store a wealth of data on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill study. The tool is part of the event’s post-incident response, natural resources damage assessment science, restoration research and future research on the Gulf of Mexico. Deepwater Horizon Oil spill is the worst oil spill in U.S. history. After this massive pollution incident, NOAA, along with federal and other state government officials, needed to determine the amount of crude oil leaked and immediately followed up on the damage done to the natural resources in the Gulf of Mexico.
