今天的大街小巷之报刊零售点,到处可见品种繁多、版面活泼的报纸周末版、星期天刊、月末刊等等(以下简称周末版)。报纸周末版方兴未艾,她伴随其日益深远的影响,已在全国形成了一个庞大的读者群,同时也在书报市场占有着相当大的领地。 据1993年底统计,全国公开发行的报纸已达2039种,是1978年105种的5.17倍,这些报纸至今已有半数办有自己的周末版或星期天版等等。有的报社甚至直言不讳地把周末版称为“报纸走向市场的拳头产品”。
