OBJECTIVE: To synthesize chiral D ring synthon containing dimethyl germane. Methods: The chiral D ring synthon containing dimethyl germane was synthesized by stereoselective control of (+) - intrinsic 3 bromoketone 2 as a chiral source. Results: The two synthesized chiral D-rings have high optical purity. CONCLUSION: (+) Intrinsic 3 bromoketone 2 is the ideal chiral source for the synthesis of D-ring synthons containing two geminal dimethyl
