《鲜花的废墟》集中了张承志西班牙、北非之行的观感。凭借着伊斯兰文化的积蕴和考古队员式的执著,他细致地勾勒了在这“两海之聚”的所在,伊斯兰文明与基督教文明的历史性相遇以及碰撞出的丰硕的果实。与前此的作品相比,他进一步提升了作品的精神境界,在伊斯兰教“认一论”优先的前提下,透露出对文明交往的“和而不同”的赞赏。
The “Flowers of the Ruins” epitomizes Zhang Chengzhi’s perception of Spain and North Africa. By virtue of the heritage of Islamic culture and archetypal perseverance, he carefully sketched the historic meeting between Islamic civilization and Christian civilization and the fruitful fruits of the collision in this “gathering of two seas.” Compared with the previous works, he further enhanced the spiritual realm of his works, and under the precondition of giving priority to Islam, “recognizing and discussing”, he revealed appreciation for “harmony and difference” in the communication of civilization.
