Michael Gold’s “Jews without Money” is an important American proletarian literature. In his work, Gold faithfully records not only the poor life and corrupt social atmosphere of American Jewish immigrants during the Great Migration, but also profoundly criticizes the degeneration and deterioration of some Jewish immigrants, especially those Jewish upperclassmen. In a sense, this work has played a leading role in the development of American Jewish literature and has shaped the generation of American proletarian literature.
