《戏剧报》设专栏讨论青年演员素质问题,很有意义,不由地想说几句话。我认为演员素质除却演员先天条件之外,还包括基本功训练、生活积累、文艺修养以及思想修养等等。如果笼统地拿当代演员和五、六十年代的演员水平相比较,确实很难下孰高孰低的定论。不过在生活积累,尤其是在思想修养方面,中青年演员确实是亟待提高的。一般说来,五十年代的演员大多比较习惯于排演纪律制度的“约束”,大部分人不论角色大小,常能“走火入魔”地进行创造,排练场内外都充满了探讨艺术的气氛。而目前看来,这种气氛显然是淡薄了。现而
