1892年6月18日至20日,在四川成都召开了全国林业科技情报工作会议。这是继1983年全国林业情报工作会议之后,又一次专门研究林业科技情报工作的会议。会议参加者为来自各省(区)林业厅(局)科教处长、省(区)林业科技情报中心主任、全国林业系统专业情报中心站负责人、高等林业院校主管科技情报工作的图书馆长或科研处长、林业部属有关单位主管情报信息工作的处室负责人以及中国林业报记者、中国林业出版社等单位共计代表100余人。
