改变教学观念,对学生进行素质教育,培养学生的主体意识、参与意识、独立意识和创新意识,是目前教学中急待解决的问题。就获取知识的能力而言,在教学方式上要从“重点教给学生一定知识”转变为“重点激发学生学习兴趣和培养学生学习能力”;就思维能力而言,要从“直接给学生问题,给学生思路,给学生结论”转变为“学生自己发现问题,自己解决问题,自己得出结论”;就实践能力而言,尽力为学生创设语言环境,培养学生运用语言的能力。从根本上讲就是最大限度地把大学生的英语学习、思维、实践交给他们自己,让学生认真学习,真思维、真实践,从而提高他们的英语学习能力。
