短文改错这一题目的设置,目的是考查学生在语篇中综合运用英语准确性的能力及考查学生校正语篇的能力。其错误类型包括语法、词法、句法、语篇结构、行文逻辑等等。短文改错所选文章的难度低于中学结业前所学的课文。文体主要是记述文和说明文。记述文一般是叙述过去发生的事情,文中的句子除直接引语和少数评注性句子外,大多是过去时态。说明文,尤其是科普文章,句子的时态都以一般现在时为主。懂得这一点,对于解题是有帮助的。

Expository texts, especially popular science articles, have a tense sentence-based current time. Understanding this point is helpful for solving problems.
