2004年初春,徐州龙华寺成了徐州市民关注的焦点。《徐州晨报》对龙华寺进行了两个多月的追踪报道。但各种报道从始至终也没有突破郦道元《水经注·泗水篇》里讲的那几句话,只是论证了法显在徐州所建的龙华寺是中国第一座具有印度建筑风格的寺院的命题。印度建筑风格的寺院到底是什么样子?至今仍然没有交待清楚。于是就引发了果光法师一行重走法显路重寻龙华图的动议。到目前为止,省政府已经批准了在徐州市珠山文化旅游区重建龙华寺的报告,近日我市又与上海大都会集团公司签订了共同开发珠山文化旅游区的协议。市佛教协会赴印度考察团归国也有几个月了,现在的印度佛教是个什么情况,法显眼中印度早期的寺院到底是什么样子,徐州龙华寺应该按什么风格建设,也就成了我们共同关心的问题。
