准备巷道独头段的长度对巷道中瓦斯涌出量有极大的影响.但在现行的规范文件中,没有严格规定沿着含瓦斯煤层掘进的准备巷道独头段的长度.东方煤矿安全科研所和卡拉干达工学院等一起,制定了确定准备巷道独头段的最大可能长度的方法.此法在卡拉干达煤炭联合公司各矿井中获得了广泛运用.根据这个方法,按瓦斯涌出因素,并考虑到所用通风手段可能保证巷道所需风量的情况,确定出必需的风量.运用此法所积累的经验,以及系统地对比实际瓦斯涌出量和按此法预测的瓦斯涌出量的数据表明,该方法可以相当准确地确定出掘进巷道和通风手段所必需的工艺参数,以保证掘进所需的风量.
