河南省的瓜农历来有间作套种的习惯.在豫东瓜产区,以往多是西瓜与小麦、大麦、豌豆套种,极少有与红薯套种,我们于1990—1992年对西瓜和红薯间作进行了研究,现将研究结果简要报道如下.试验设在虞城县农业技术推广中心.选择地力均匀一致的沙壤地,设三项处理:纯作西瓜、纯作红薯、红薯与西瓜间作.每处理小区面积为0.033hm~2,重复3次.红薯品种为徐薯18,西瓜品种为郑杂5号.起垅栽培,垅宽80cm,垅上载2行红薯,垅间沟
