Recently, there was a magical highway in Chiba prefecture, Japan. Its “special function” is an oxynitride that can automatically absorb the serious pollution of the environment in automobile exhaust. It turned out that the road in the pavement added a powdery photocatalyst - titanium dioxide. When this photocatalyst is exposed to sunlight in the sun, the nitrogen oxides, toxic pollutants in the exhaust of vehicles, are combined with oxygen atoms in the photocatalyst to form non-toxic, harmless, neutral nitric acid compounds. It should be emphasized that titanium dioxide as a photocatalyst itself is also non-toxic and harmless, and is often used as an additive in food and cosmetics, and thus it is used as a paving material
