本试验以盆栽和大田栽培的新红星/西府海棠(MalusMicromalus)为试材,研究了苹果新根的周年发生动态。盆栽1~2年生幼树萌芽后新根发生总量持续增加,只有生长根发生量在6月下旬~8月略有下降。在同样的环境条件下,大田植株的新根发生动态因植株类型而异,双峰和三峰曲线皆有;春季不同类型树体发根差异最大,小年树、弱树发根量在萌芽后缓慢上升,不因春梢的迅速生长而降低,旺长树、大年树在春梢旺长前达到高峰,之后下降形成低谷,丰稳产树此时虽有增长但非常缓慢;春梢停长后各类树体发根均达高峰,并在7~8月份秋梢生长、高温期下降;秋梢停长后出现秋季高峰,但大年超负荷树秋季高峰消失,并影响次年(小年树)春季新根的发生。总之,弱树新根特别是生长根发生量始终最小,旺长树生长根量则显著高于其它树体类型,丰稳产树发生量高而稳定,旺长树受新梢生长、大小年树受果实发育影响显著
