拱墅区位于杭州市北部,是杭州市中心城区之一,现辖四镇六街道,总面积87平方公里,总人口50余万,其中常住人口28万。拱墅区历史悠久,是杭州市委、市政府所在地。辖区内有杭州热电厂、杭州钢铁厂、半山发电厂等国有大型企业。
Located in the north of Hangzhou, Gongshu District is one of the downtown districts of Hangzhou. It has a total area of 87 square kilometers and a total population of over 500,000 with a permanent population of 280,000. Gongshu District has a long history, is the Hangzhou municipal government seat. Area under the Hangzhou Thermal Power Plant, Hangzhou Iron and Steel Plant, Mid-Levels Power Plant and other large state-owned enterprises.
