东堡村紧邻宝鸡县县城虢镇,1983年以来进行了旧村改造建设,村貌有了很大的改观。他们根据当地人多地少、乡镇企业比较发达的特点,进行农房设计建设,受到好评。东堡村的二层住宅小楼,为一户一院,亦可二户联建(见图)。居室大小有别,可床可炕;楼梯设计为预制混凝土悬臂平板式踏步板,底层空间占用少,楼梯间可一功多用,平时可作餐室,收获时可存放粮食,经隔断处理可作卫生间,坡屋顶空间可设搁楼堆放杂物,亦可利用楼梯间二层局部空间作杂物堆放处;厨房与居室错开,可避免烟尘穿
