认识李杰,是1997年。那一年,我所在的郑州市豫剧团排演豫剧现代戏《老子·儿子·弦子》,邀请的导演正是李杰。那时的李杰刚刚三十出头,浑身散发着这个年龄段怀揣理想的年轻人应有的活力和锐气。转眼16年过去了,人到中年的李杰明显老成、沉稳了许多。和这种老成相伴的,是他人生和艺术阅历的丰富和创作成果的丰实、丰厚。虽然对李杰的艺术风格进行理论的定位为时尚早,因为他正奔跑在前行的路上,还在实践、积累、思考、变化。但李杰20多年的导演实践及其丰硕的艺术成就,已经为我们提供了许多可说的话题。
