山西省国有林场森林资源主要分布在各市县比较重要的河流源头及山脉腹地,对维护我省生态安全发挥着十分重要的作用。现有国有林场267个,实行省市县三级管理。省林业厅垂直管理杨树局、管涔林局、五台林局、黑茶林局、关帝林局、太行林局、太岳林局、吕梁林局和中条林局和省林职院实验林场,管辖147个林场;由市、县实施管理的120个林场。全省国有林场林地总面积3691万亩(其中省直2140万亩),占全省林地总面积的28%;有林地面积2138万亩,活立木蓄积量7130万立方米,主要树种为油松、落叶松、侧柏、杨树、刺槐、辽东栋等。

There are 21.38 million mu of forest land and 71.3 million cubic meters of live stumpage. The main tree species are Pinus tabulaeformis , Larch, arborvitae, poplar, black locust, Liaodong Dong and so on.
