The weak Western Australian Geography of the Cold Current High School (Test Revision, Compulsory) book on the second edition (2000, 2nd edition), p. 74 states: “Cold currents on the coast have played a role in the formation of the desert environment on the west coast of Australia and the Pacific coast of Peru.” West The cold current in Australia is much weaker than the Benguela cold current and Peruvian cold current. The temperature of cold water in Western Australia is slightly higher than that of Benguela cold current and Peru cold current at the same latitude. For a coast where the cold current passes by, the temperature must be lower than the coast where the warm current flows at the same latitude. As in Rio de Janeiro, the average temperature in July and July is at the same latitude.
