译者的话本文节选自印度法学会(The Indian Law Institution,简称ILI)组织各方法律人士撰写、出版的论文集《印度法律制度》(Indian Legal System)第二版。本书由已故教授Joseph Minattur主编,1978年发行第一版。其后,随着印度立法和司法改革的推进,旧作相关内容需要增删。为此,印度法学会再次组织人手,对除“印度法院史和立法机关史”之外的章节进行修订,并于2006年出版第二版。修订版由印度法学会助理研究员Lisa
Translator’s Note This article is an excerpt from the second edition of the Indian Legal System, a collection of articles written and published by lawyers from the Indian Law Institution (ILI). This book is edited by the late professor Joseph Minattur, first edition released in 1978. Since then, with the advancement of Indian legislation and judicial reform, the related content of old books needs to be added or deleted. To this end, the Indian Law Society reorganized its staff to revise chapters other than “History of the Indian Courts and History of the Legislature” and published the second edition in 2006.
