The 1992 Annual Meeting of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Technology Conference and Exhibition was held in Washington, DC from October 4-7. The theme of the conference is “Celebrating tradition - going to the future.” Well-known scholars, engineers and managers from the world’s energy industry submitted more than 400 papers to the conference, covering applications and theoretical topics in exploration, drilling and production technology. With the theme of “Energy, Government and Society: For the Future,” we will discuss the turmoil in the supply and demand of oil and gas during the 1980s and the profound changes in the global political and social foundation in the past two years.
