《英语课程标准》中明确指出:语言有丰富的文化内涵,在英语教学中,教师应根据学生的年龄特点和认知能力,逐步扩展文化知识的内容和范围。受应试教育的影响,在中学英语教学中,有些教师偏重于单词和词组的教学,用大量时间讲解语法要点、句型,而忽视了有关文化背景知识的讲授,不仅费时费力,而且会加重学生负担,使学生失去学习兴趣。
“English Curriculum Standard” clearly states: Language has rich cultural connotation. In English teaching, teachers should gradually expand the content and scope of cultural knowledge according to their age characteristics and cognitive abilities. Under the influence of exam-oriented education, some teachers emphasize the teaching of words and phrases in secondary school English teaching, devoting a lot of time to explaining grammar points and sentence patterns while ignoring the teaching of cultural background knowledge, which not only takes time and effort, but also aggravates students’ Burden, so that students lose interest in learning.
