球墨铸铁制造成功,给我国工业的发展带来了很大的进步,会加速地完成我们的经济建设,尤其是为钢铁工业、机械制造工业开展了无限光明的前途。球墨铸铁虽然这样重要,但因为是新发明的东西一般地对它了解还很少。关于球墨铸铁的报导已经在报统上见到,现在我作一个较详细的介绍。一先从铸铁谈起从鼓风炉出来的铁叫铸铁,这种铁中杂质很多,铁中含碳成份自2％到4.5％。这种铁很硬很脆,根据它在显微镜下所见到的不同构造可以分为四类:
