有人早就讲21世纪是美国人的世纪。美国人上自学者、下至贩夫走卒,马上就加以否认,21世纪决不是美国人的世纪,那是日本人的世纪。而日本人马上就否认,21世纪不是日本人的世纪,而是你们其他国家的世纪,是法国人的世纪,是欧洲人的世纪,反正不是我们。只有我们中国人乐此不疲,这是我们的世纪。我不知道这是一种怎样的心理状态。为什么中国人想让21世纪成为中国人的世纪呢?这是我们文化中虚妄的一面。我愿意很肯定地说,21世纪甚至于22世纪也不
Someone long ago said that the 21st century is a century of Americans. As a self-educated American, they are denied immediately by the hawks. The 21st century is by no means the century of the Americans. That is the century of the Japanese. The Japanese deny immediately that the 21st century is not the Japanese century, but the century of your other countries, the French century, European century, anyway, not us.
