联珠纹产生于中亚的萨珊王朝,在魏晋南北朝及隋唐时期经粟特人传入中国并风行一时,为中国装饰纹样带来了新的图案组织模式。联珠纹传入我国后就开始向着本土化方向发展,唐代完成了向一般团窠纹的转变。隋唐以后虽然其纹样骨架——联珠圈不存在了,但其团窠的图案形式却内化为各种形式内容的团花图案,对中国传统纹样的形态产生了深远影响。
