近年来,清城区紧紧抓住省、市支持中心城区扩容提质的重大机遇,深入贯彻落实市委“桥头堡”战略,以“全面建成小康社会”为奋斗目标,突出“产业转型升级、城市建设管理、社会管理创新”三条工作主线,统筹推进改革发展稳定各项工作,推动全区经济社会保持了平稳健康较快发展的良好势头。清城区主要经济指标总量及增速连续多年领先全市,生产总值、工业总产值、固定资产投资、社会消费品零售总额等多项指标总量已经超过珠三角部分县(市、区)的水平。
