Recent studies show that the expression of the Alox15 gene encoding 12/15-lipoxygenase is negatively correlated with the bone mineral density in mice. Thus, drugs that target the 12/15-lipoxygenase pathway symbolize a new approach to treating osteoporosis. Professor Robert F.
