Pregnancy can pose a significant risk to women with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Research shows that good care can reduce this risk. The Atlantic Diabetes Gestation Day Care Working Group (ATLANTIC DIP), established in 2005, represents five prenatal centers in a wide area of the Atlantic coast of Ireland with a population of 500,000 people. This group provides diabetic women with coordinated health care before, during and after pregnancy.
