Introduction This article reviews Hermida et al., 2011, in an article published in Diabetes Care - “The Impact of Antihypertensive Drug Dose on the Risk of Cardiovascular Events in Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Hypertension.” Although studies in both the European Systolic Hypertension Study and the Prevention of Cardiovascular Prophylaxis estimate that taking antihypertensive drugs at bedtime gives better control of systolic hypertension and thus better cardiovascular outcomes.
