南水北调工程是解决中国北方水资源严重短缺问题的特大型基础设施项目,建设的目的是通过跨流域的水资源合理配置,保障经济、社会与人口、资源、环境的协调发展。其中建筑物规模选择除受洪水大小影响,还考虑了现状河道地形、地貌、有无堤防、今后河道治理规划、工程布置及修建工程后不恶化当地现有防洪除涝标准。
The South-to-North Water Diversion Project is an extra large infrastructure project to solve the serious shortage of water resources in northern China. Its purpose is to ensure the coordinated development of economy, society, population, resources and environment through the rational allocation of water resources across the river basins.
