根据ESP的定义,ESP的教学内容应包括语言、语篇、体裁和技能四个方面。我国大学的ESP(即专业英语)曾一直以语言教学为主。然而,随着学生英语水平的提高和社会对专业+外语人才需求的增加,大学ESP应该加强语篇、体裁和技能教学。英美大学的专业交际学(简称TC)课程根据现代专业信息的特点来确定专业语篇的修辞原则,讲授常用体裁的写作方法、并进行交际技能训练。把TC引入我国的ESP教学有利于提高学生的专业交际综合能力。
According to the definition of ESP, ESP teaching content should include language, text, genre and skills in four areas. Our college ESP (ie professional English) has been the main language teaching. However, with the improvement of students’ English level and the increase of social demand for major + foreign language talents, university ESP should strengthen the teaching of texts, genres and skills. British and American University’s Professional Communication (TC) course determines the rhetorical principles of professional discourse according to the characteristics of modern professional information, teaches the writing methods of common genres, and conducts communication skills training. The introduction of TC into China’s ESP teaching is conducive to improving students’ professional communicative competence.
