The Monsanto iron ore owned by Rhofus Limited Iron Ore, located about 56 km north of Supertiber in Ordario, uses open pit mining in the northern, rugged region of the state of 11 mining vessels with an average iron content of 27% Magnetite veins. The daily output of the mine is 38,000 tons, proven reserves sufficient for mining for 25 years. The Monsanto Iron Ore is a native sedimentary deposit that has undergone a strong metamorphism that includes a variety of amphibole-biotite-chlorite schist and quartzite. The ore body is a pure quartzite containing a thin layer of magnetite and the grade of the ore varies proportionally with the inclusion of such an interlayer. The deposit has been subject to folds, faults and granite and diorite intrusions since its initial deposition
