近年来越来越多的中国学生出国深造,希望得到更好的教育和提高英语。但国外的生活也会困难重重。本文通过对一组留学澳大利亚的中国学生的深度采访,总结出他们所主要面对的英语困难并分析了导致这些困难的原因。这一研究结果表明,中国的英语教学应当更加注意学生英语交际能力全方位的发展,同时指出英语学习更应视英语为全球性的语言而不是把英语母语者作为唯一的标准。
In recent years, more and more Chinese students have gone abroad for further studies, hoping to get better education and improve their English. But living abroad can be difficult. Through an in-depth interview with a group of Chinese students studying in Australia, this article summarizes the major difficulties they face in English and analyzes the causes of these difficulties. The result of this study shows that English teaching in China should pay more attention to the all-round development of students’ communicative competence in English and point out that English learning should regard English as a global language rather than English native speakers as the only criterion.
