金丝猴与国宝大熊猫同为国家一级保护动物。金丝猴是甘肃的特产,是陇塬的瑰宝。据1982年珍贵动物普查,全省2,159只金丝猴主要分布在陇南的文县等地。金丝猴形瘦而壮实,背部有金黄色的长毛故得名“金丝猴”。当地人也叫:线猴、金线绒、仰鼻猴、蓝面猴,古时人称“狖”等等。此猴属灵长目,猴科,金丝猴线绒毛最长可达23厘米,脸形较圆,吻部隆突,面盘靛蓝、鼻孔上翅,眼周白色,尾巴与体长几乎相等。金丝猴的珍奇,诗人早有赞叹。屈原的《九歌·山鬼》中
