Tests for rubble mound breakwater have been conducted with irregular waves. Not only the separation of the wave spectra of incident and reflected waves has been carried out, but also the simulation and superposition of time series for those waves. The results show that waves with different characteristics have different reflection coefficients; compared with incident waves, the wave height distribution of reflected waves varies, the wave number decreases and the period increases. The wave time series resulting from the superposition of those of incident and reflected waves is coincident with the measured one, proving the correctness of the method for separating wave time series.
Not only the separation of the wave spectra of incident and reflected waves has been carried out but also the simulation and superposition of time series for those waves. The results show that waves with different compared with incident waves, the wave height distribution of reflected waves vary the wave height distribution of reflected waves , proving the correctness of the method for separating wave time series.
