根据美国制订的详细计划,不久前,建造了海洋地震仪系统,这是设置在洋底钻井里的世界上第一个永久性自动地震站。该地震站位于塔希提岛西南约1000海里,即汤加海沟地区,这个海沟是地球上地震最活跃的地带之一。 地震站由一个集装箱组成,箱内装配了一台计算机、四台地震仪以及其他一些探测器和传感器。集装箱安放在一个直径为20厘米,长为10.7米的圆柱体内。圆柱体不受海水的腐蚀,它能承受680个以上的大气压。圆柱体是利用“格·挑战者”号钻探船上的专用设备放入钻井内
According to a detailed plan developed by the United States, the seismograph system was recently built and is the world’s first permanent automatic seismic station to be installed in ocean floor drilling. The station is located about 1,000 nautical miles southwest of Tahiti, the Tonga trench, one of the most earthquake-stricken areas on Earth. The station consists of a container equipped with a computer, four seismometers and other detectors and sensors. Container placed in a diameter of 20 cm, 10.7 meters long cylinder.
