政治经济学作为马克思主义三大组成部分之一,作为科学社会主义的理论基础,历来受到我国党和国家领导人的高度重视。2015年11月,习近平主持政治局学习会议,专题学习与研究社会主义政治经济学问题,并先后多次谈话,深刻论述研究当代中国马克思主义政治经济学的重大意义。习近平谈的当代、中国与马克思主义的社会主义政治经济学三个维度,深刻地概括了我们所要研究的社会主义政治经济学的特定内涵。改革、生产关系及其运行机制的调整,正是当前我国社会主义政治经济学研究的主要对象。弹好市场经济之弦,则是改革实践与政治经济学理论交汇之点。
