谢默斯·希尼(1939.413—2013.8.30),1995年诺贝尔文学奖得主,当代最重要的爱尔兰诗人、诗学专家、文学批评家和翻译家。希尼于1966年凭借《自然主义者之死》先后获乔蒙德利奖、毛姆文学奖和费伯纪念奖等奖项而一举成名,被公认为继叶芝之后爱尔兰最重要的诗人。诗集《地区和圆圈》获2006年度艾略特奖,由艾略特夫人亲自颁奖。2010年发表诗集《人链》,获得前进诗歌奖。希尼不仅在国际享誉盛名,也是国内诗坛普遍认可、尊重和关注的诗人。他一生共出版了《自然主义者之死》《地区和圆圈》《人链》等十二本诗集,另有两本诗选;《特洛伊的弥合》和《提贝的埋葬》两部戏剧;《舌头的管辖》《写作的位置》等四部诗论集。诺贝尔奖演讲《归功于诗》也是一篇重要诗论。主要译作有《迷途的斯威尼》《贝奥武甫》等,其中《贝奥武甫》在英语世界引起巨大轰动。
Shepherd Sinny (1939.413 - 2013.8.30), 1995 Nobel laureate in literature, most important contemporary Irish poet, poetic expert, literary critic and translator. In 1966, Schnee was famed for having won the Joe Mondley Prize, the Maugham Prize for Literature and the Fairbanks Memorial Prize for the death of the Naturalist, and was recognized as the most important poet in Ireland after Yeats. The collection of poems, “Regions and Circles,” won the 2006 Elliott Prize, personally presented by Mrs Elliot. 2010 published poetry “people chain”, won the progressive poetry award. Shinni is not only internationally renowned, but also a poet widely recognized, respected and concerned by the domestic poetry community. In his lifetime, he has published twelve collections of poems such as “the death of a naturalist,” “regional and circle,” and “human chain.” There are two other poems; two plays, “Bridging Troy” and “Beethoven’s Burial” “Tongue jurisdiction” “writing position” and other four poetry collection. Nobel Prize speech “attributed to the poem” is also an important poetics. Mainly translated as “lost Sweeney” “Beowulf”, etc., “Beowulf” caused a huge sensation in the English-speaking world.
