樟科植物是一个非常庞大的植物类群。全世界共有樟科植物约45属、2500种,遍布全球各地,以热带、亚热带为最多。我国各地分布有约24属、423种、43个变种和5个变型,尤其在长江流域以南地区,分布最广。樟科树种用途十分广泛,是我国南方常绿阔叶林中常见的建群树种。很多树种树形高大挺拔,树冠浓密,枝叶繁茂,树姿优美,四季常青,在庭园观赏、城市绿化中起到了不可或缺的作用。一些樟科植物材质优良,可做家具、建材,是重要的经济林木,应用价值较高;一些樟科植物的种子可榨油,是工业润滑油和制皂的理想原料;它们的叶片还可以
